Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 11, 2026
Noetic Frame (“we”) provides the reading app ScrollArc (“the App”). This policy explains how the App handles information. ScrollArc has no account system or advertising. Imported document text is handled on-device and is not uploaded to our servers or sent for AI analysis.
ScrollArc Plus is being prepared for release.
The RevenueCat code is implemented, but the App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat products have not completed external setup. This policy describes the subscription data that will be handled if Plus becomes available.
1. Information kept only on-device
The App stores the following in its private local storage or device preferences. It does not send this information to Firebase, RevenueCat, our servers, or an AI service.
- Markdown text, conversation text imported from ChatGPT or Claude, titles, filenames or source names, and content hashes used for duplicate detection
- Reading position, progress, last-opened time, local version history, and changes between copies of the same document
- Highlight text and surrounding context, bookmark labels, and bookmark positions
- Theme, type size, line spacing, reading width, language, and the diagnostics preference
- Local state used to avoid repeating a review request for the same app version
Official AI-export ZIP or JSON files are read on-device, and selected conversations are converted into local documents. The original export file is left unchanged.
2. Usage and crash diagnostics can be disabled
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve quality and investigate failures. Diagnostics are initially enabled in store release builds. You can disable them at any time under “Usage & crash diagnostics” in Settings. Reading features continue to work when diagnostics are off.
Information that may be sent
- Fixed events describing import route, fixed success or failure reasons, Reader start or resume state, and progress bucket
- Crash reports, stack traces, app version, OS, and device diagnostic information
- Pseudonymous app-instance information generated by Firebase
Information prohibited from diagnostics
- Document text, titles, filenames, source names, document IDs, content hashes, or local paths
- Search terms, external link URLs, highlights, or bookmarks
- Names, email addresses, or user IDs and user properties set by us
3. Subscription processing uses an anonymous Support ID
In a build where ScrollArc Plus is available, the App uses RevenueCat to handle purchases, receipt validation, entitlement status, restoration, and subscription management. An anonymous App User ID generated by the RevenueCat SDK appears in the App as the “Subscription Support ID.” We do not set an email address, Firebase ID, device ID, or our own account ID as that App User ID.
When subscription status is synchronized, RevenueCat may receive the anonymous App User ID, store product identifier, purchase, renewal, expiration, and refund state, purchase platform, and technical request information. Apple or Google processes transactions and receipts under the applicable store terms and policies.
We do not send document text, titles, filenames, search terms, highlights, or bookmarks to RevenueCat. We also do not send document IDs, content hashes, external link URLs, Firebase IDs, email addresses, or custom customer attributes.
4. A support message arrives only when you send the email
The in-app support form prepares a draft in your email app. It does not send the message automatically. If you confirm sending, your message, selected category, Subscription Support ID, app version, OS, locale, and sender email address are handled by your email provider and our receiving mailbox.
Do not attach document text, Markdown files, AI exports, search terms, highlights, bookmarks, or confidential information to a support request.
5. Why information is handled
- To import, render, search, resume, version, annotate, and export documents
- To improve usability and reliability from fixed usage events and error patterns
- To process ScrollArc Plus purchases, restoration, entitlements, and subscription management
- To respond to product and subscription support requests
6. External services
When diagnostics are enabled, diagnostic information is sent to Firebase, a service provided by Google LLC. In a build where ScrollArc Plus is available, RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play process subscription information. Submitted information is retained and deleted under our settings and the applicable provider terms and policies.
If you choose public-repository import, the App connects to GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket and downloads the selected Markdown file from the public repository you specify. A destination provider’s policy also applies when you choose to open an external link or image source from a document.
7. Deletion and collection controls
- Delete one document from Document details. Its history, reading position, highlights, and bookmarks are also removed from the device.
- Use “Delete all local documents” in Settings to remove all documents and reading state. Appearance and language settings remain.
- Uninstalling the App removes its locally stored app data from the device.
- Turning diagnostics off stops future Analytics and Crashlytics collection. Previously submitted information remains subject to Firebase retention settings.
- Manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account or Google Account. Deleting a document or uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
8. Children
The App is not designed to collect personal information from a particular age group. If we learn that we unintentionally obtained a child’s personal information, we will take appropriate action.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the App, its SDKs, law, or store requirements change. Material changes will be made clear on this page or in the App.
10. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@noeticframe.com. Do not attach document text or confidential material.
