These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ScrollArc (the “App”), provided by Noetic Frame (“we”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
ScrollArc Plus is being prepared for release.
Subscriptions cannot currently be purchased because the App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat products have not completed external setup. The subscription terms below apply when Plus becomes available and the App shows a localized store price and purchase action.
1. What the App provides
ScrollArc is a reading app that imports official ChatGPT and Claude exports, Markdown files, shared text, and Markdown from public repositories into on-device storage. It displays, searches, and resumes those documents while maintaining local reading positions, version history, diffs, highlights, and bookmarks.
The App does not provide cloud document synchronization, backup, AI generation, or AI analysis. Public-repository access, optional diagnostics, subscription processing, and opening external links require network access.
2. License
Subject to these Terms and the terms of the applicable app store, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to use the App for personal or work-related reading.
3. Your documents and exports
- You must have the rights or permission necessary to use, display, and export documents, AI-service exports, and public-repository content that you import.
- Imported documents are copied into the App’s private local storage. The original file is left unchanged.
- Local data may be lost if the App is uninstalled, the device is reset or fails, or the operating system removes data. Keep separate backups of important documents.
- You are responsible for reviewing exported Markdown, PDF, or HTML, choosing its destination, and ensuring that saving, sharing, or redistributing it is lawful.
4. ScrollArc Plus
Free and Plus capabilities
Standard reading, the local library, basic import, Continue Reading, reading position, Reading Map, search, appearance controls, GFM, code, math, Mermaid, local version history and diffs, and saving Markdown source are free. Plus provides PDF and HTML export and creation of new highlights and bookmarks.
After Plus ends, existing highlights and bookmarks remain readable, navigable, and removable. We do not delete or hide your documents or reading positions because a subscription ends.
Price and billing
When Plus becomes available, the App will show the monthly or annual localized price before purchase. The price displayed by Apple App Store or Google Play at purchase confirmation—including currency, taxes, and store price tier—controls. If an intended price on a website differs from the in-app store display, the store display takes priority.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Account when you confirm the purchase. The store manages subsequent renewals, charges, and transaction records.
Automatic renewal and cancellation
Plus renews automatically for the selected period unless you cancel through your store account before the next renewal. The applicable Apple or Google rules determine cancellation deadlines and timing. After cancellation, Plus remains available until the expiration date shown by the store.
Use “Manage subscription” in the App to open the store’s management page, or manage the subscription directly through your Apple Account or Google Account. Uninstalling the App, deleting documents, or disabling diagnostics does not cancel a subscription.
Restoring purchases
After reinstalling or changing devices, use the same Apple Account or Google Account and select “Restore purchases” in the App. Plus is restored when a valid store receipt and entitlement can be confirmed. Transfers between different stores or accounts remain subject to the applicable store and RevenueCat rules.
Refunds, expiration, and entitlement
Refund requests and decisions follow the rules and procedures of the Apple App Store or Google Play where you purchased Plus. We cannot promise a refund beyond the store’s decision. If the store or RevenueCat confirms a refund, revocation, billing failure, or expiration, new Plus actions become unavailable. Existing local documents and annotations remain on-device.
Store terms
The Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions or Google Play Terms of Service apply to Plus transactions in addition to these Terms. If mandatory store conditions concerning billing, cancellation, refunds, family sharing, or regional availability differ from these Terms, the applicable store conditions control.
5. External services and content
Public-repository import uses GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket. Subscriptions use RevenueCat and the applicable app store, and optional diagnostics use Firebase. A provider outage, restriction, or specification change may make an affected feature temporarily or permanently unavailable.
Opening a link or image source contained in a document may take you to an external browser or third-party service. We do not guarantee the accuracy, safety, rights status, or continued availability of third-party content.
6. Prohibited conduct
- Use that violates law, public policy, or another person’s rights
- Interference with the App, related services, or an app store
- Reverse engineering, modification, or redistribution beyond what applicable law permits
- Using the App to harm another person
7. Availability and changes
We may change or discontinue features, supported environments, prices, or distribution methods to improve quality, security, or compliance. We will make material changes clear when reasonably possible.
8. Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant fitness for a particular purpose, completeness, accuracy, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or preservation of data. The App does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
9. Limitation of liability
Except for our willful misconduct or gross negligence, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use or inability to use the App, loss of documents or reading state, exports, or third-party services. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when necessary. Material changes will be noted on this page or in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, disputes concerning the App are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Japanese court having jurisdiction over our principal place of business.
